So I went and got falsies glued unto my lashes. It wasn't very drama, the dar accompanied to a tiny shop in the chinatown area and in a mere 25min , I was done. All drama lashes and all. The process itself was somewhat uncomfortable but not painful and I must say, makes getting ready a breeze. Although now I can't spray water on my face, and neither can I rub my eyes, one of my favourite pastimes, might I add. But at least I look glam! ha.

The year did not start on the best of notes, I have been antsy and pensive about an event, thankfully it is over but the amount of effort and stress I endured over it, was really not all that worth it.
I was so riled up by the happenings that I lost myself for a moment. I was back to being the angry and scary one of yesterdays. To top it all off, the hubs was recalled to practice guarding our little isle and so I was left to my own devices, no calming, centering voice of reason in sight. Hence the crazy shenanigans. Thankfully it is all over and not only can I close a chapter in my life, I can banish the scary one of yesterdays back to where she should be and must stay.
It was so bad that when the dar came back from his recall, I was still fuming. Not good, seeming it was not to do with him. Oh well, there is always collateral damage in all means of warfare, no matter how unwilling a party we are to it.
Perhaps, the year has started in such a way that has enabled me to see clearly who my real frens are and to remind me to be appreciative of them and also to remind myself that I am just not cut out to be the type of person who can smile and speak words of flattery to a person who has done so many vindictive things time and again.
I feel a great sense of relief that I can finally put this issue to rest and I am trying hard not to bitch about it anymore. Well, like I said, I'm still trying.

I have been so lazy with my postings of late that I have a huge backload of pics and posts to upload. Sept was great tho. The Big day went well and then our minimoon to relaxation and back for the Big Race. It was fun. Think they each deserve a post of their own and I will do them justice with one each, in due time.
Since the BIG day, life has been rather slouth like for me and the dar. This is no good. I think we have both been buzzed out from the excitement and activity of everything, such that we are like really tired and limboed out. Time on the other hand still continues to fly by, such that we are blown away that we are into December and that the year 2009 as we know it, is coming to and end.
Annoyingly, my travel plans have been derailed by the Japanese who have to close for the new year so I am effectively stuck on this island. I am not pleased. Was really look forward to going somewhere, to stretch my legs and have a good walkabout. Have been feeling rather restless and listless of late. Not my usual OCD self at all. Shopping has lost it's lusture for me. Believe it or not, a weekend of shopping failed to score a single pair of shoes nor anything else for myself. Although I must say my Xmas shopping is well on track. Ok, not completely off my OCD self.
This weekend will be filled with work related outings. Well, at least we'll be doing something. Hopefully we can squeeze in a leisurely bike ride, hope the weather holds.

My urge to post often hits me when I am walking along, in the loo, or on the train. Most of the times, it is when I have no access to the internet. This would explain the dirth in posts of late, I have no idea why but the feeling to write has eluded me when I actually sit down to type. When I walk on the other hand, the thoughts flood my brain but alas, I am not able to do anything with them.

A month flies by so effortlessly when you are having fun with the one you love.
It has been a month since we tied the knot with our closest and dearest friends and family by our side.
“I'll Be There For You” by Louise Cuddon:
I'll be there, my darling, through thick and through thin
When your mind's in a mess and your head's in a spin
When your plane's been delayed, and you've missed the last train.
When life is just threatening to drive you insane
When your thrilling whodunit has lost its last page
When somebody tells you, you're looking your age
When your coffee's too cool, and your wine is too warm
When the forecast said, “Fine,” but you're out in a storm
When your quick break hotel, turns into a slum
And your holiday photos show only your thumb
When you park for five minutes in a resident's bay
And return to discover you've been towed away
When the jeans that you bought in hope or in haste
Just stick on your hips and don't reach round your waist
When the food you most like brings you out in red rashes
When as soon as you boot up the bloody thing crashes
So my darling, my sweetheart, my dear...When you break a rule, when you act the fool
When you've got the flu, when you're in a stew
When you're last in the queue, don't feel blue'cause I'm telling you, I'll be there.
It has been a month since we tied the knot with our closest and dearest friends and family by our side.
And still I couldn't be happier. To our first month and forever, love you lots hubs.
Happy 1st month anni! xoxo.

A wedding is never just about two people. More often than not, it involves many people, even more often than not, it involves many people who have had their own wedding, but have decided to relive theirs through yours. It's amazing how people can take claim to someting that is totally and wholly not theirs. Unbelieveble even more so that they make no apologies for it. Much as I welcome your FEEDBACK, the ultimate decision belongs to us, the bride and groom. Now, why is that so hard to understand.

A post about the boo
How time really flies. In what feels like a blink of an eye, the boo went from being just a tiny bump in G's tum to a gurgling milk monster who looked a tad bit too much like mao and then on to being the active rugrat who can run around on his own.
So many changes in this short span of 22 months and how amazing the journey. His personality is unfolding every day and altho just like you and I he has his good and bad days, I love him all the same.
A non comprehensive photo roll of the boo, for the boo lovers out there.

Work has been manic and with the preps for the big day, I have been swamped.
Most of the major things have been somewhat settled and I am glad to say that we have enjoyed the planning journey to the big day. Dun be mistaken, I have encountered my truck load of crazy in the run up to this monumentous occasion in our lives. Thankfully the both of us have been more or less chill throughout and in spite of them crazies. Although I tell a lie if I say I did not want to throttle a couple of pple who shall not be mentioned. All in all, I am not going down that slippery slide towards bridezillaness. Not yet at least.

There are times when I feel overwhelmed with a sense of dread. Often about life in general but mainly about my job and where it is heading. I often wonder if I am in the right industry and if other people have the same feeling of dread that I have about my job. So many questions and so many doubts, I get so tired of it all.
But what with the impending nuptials, the nest, and the credit crunch all together, I can't very much up and leave. Well, at least not in the short term. At least this time I have found a place I actually like, aside from the crazies which are abundant everywhere I go. heh.
Anyways looking forward to the near future, with lots of excitement and anticipation.

There are too many places I really want to visit. Truth be told, travelling is one of my passions, there is nothing I love more than a good holiday to escape the madness of the day. Whether it is a quick jaunt to a neighbouring country or sitting more than 10 hrs to somewhere further. It is always a pleasure to touch down somewhere different, with fresh sights and sounds to explore.
Of the many places I want to go, these are a few of the more interesting ones that I am looking forward to;
1) The blue lagoon

Imagine taking a dip in the hot spring in the dead of winter. The place looks gorgeous too. Havn't had a winter holiday in a long time, so this would be nice.
2) Machu Pichu
![]()
Machu Picchu (Quechua: Machu Pikchu, "Old Peak", pronounced [ˈmɑtʃu ˈpiktʃu]) is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,430 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level[1]. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba River flows. Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu is one of the most familiar symbols of the Inca Empire. (source wikipedia)
Abit worried about the altitude sickness tho' but I think it will be so awesome.
3) The Pyramids of Giza

Who would not want to visit the pyramids, I cannot imagine. It is just such an amazing and beautiful sight so I really want to see it in person. Also am interested to take the tour inside to see what it's like. Pretty morbid I suppose considering these are meant to be tombs but oh so fascinating.
The list is expansive but these are just to name a few. Not sure when we will have the time or the budget to go, so I will just have to satisfy myself with short jaunts for now and our minimoon in Sept. Looking forward to lounging by the pool and hearing the waves rolling against the beach.

The weekend went by in a whirl again. This weekend we bought a garment steamer and I am pleased as punch. We had been thinking about it for some time but I wasn't sure I would actually end up using it, but I am soo loving it now. :) It's really a breeze to use and oh so fast! Managed to whizz through more buckets of unironed clothes, yes I have buckets of unironed clothes, due the the renovations, in just under three hours, it was wonderful! Never have I enjoyed doing the ironing so much, altho I guess now it should be called the steaming! heh.
In other news, the Dar changed his HP, again. Yups, traded in the N86 in just under a month for the W995, so we'll see how that pans out. The N86 was annoying him no end, as it was constantly hanging and so to put an end to his whinging we trooped down to town early to get his new phone. It's really quite a beauty with a 8.1MP camera to boot. Which no doubt I will be happily benefitting from.

It has been a crazy few weeks to say the least and finally the dust is beginning to settle somewhat. I am very drained and am not too sure how to feel. Alot of things are still in limbo and altho I am somewhat apprehensive, I believe that when God closes the door, he will at least still open a window for me. For right now, I have my Faith to keep me going along with my Dar and the support of my loved ones. It is at these times that I know I must not let life get me down, there are a million other greater problems than what I have to face and in more ways than one I am truly blessed.

A New Addition

We have a new little one in the family, a brand new little fella, still fresh from the oven. At the moment he just sleeps alot, drinks alot and wants to be picked up alot. Today he turns 1 month, what a milestone and yet it seems he has been here since forever.
Welcome Matty, I love you already!
The bro and G decided to do a small dinner just with the immediate family and it was great to see everyone again, esp the little tykes. They were hilarious. They are all growing up so fast, it's amazing, everytime I see the boo, I am amazed at how much of a little boy he has become and that he is no longer the baby sausage of yesterday.
