A post about the boo

How time really flies. In what feels like a blink of an eye, the boo went from being just a tiny bump in G's tum to a gurgling milk monster who looked a tad bit too much like mao and then on to being the active rugrat who can run around on his own.
So many changes in this short span of 22 months and how amazing the journey. His personality is unfolding every day and altho just like you and I he has his good and bad days, I love him all the same.
A non comprehensive photo roll of the boo, for the boo lovers out there.

Work has been manic and with the preps for the big day, I have been swamped.
Most of the major things have been somewhat settled and I am glad to say that we have enjoyed the planning journey to the big day. Dun be mistaken, I have encountered my truck load of crazy in the run up to this monumentous occasion in our lives. Thankfully the both of us have been more or less chill throughout and in spite of them crazies. Although I tell a lie if I say I did not want to throttle a couple of pple who shall not be mentioned. All in all, I am not going down that slippery slide towards bridezillaness. Not yet at least.

High Tea at the Ritz

It was a nice and relaxing day and an early anni celebration.

There are times when I feel overwhelmed with a sense of dread. Often about life in general but mainly about my job and where it is heading. I often wonder if I am in the right industry and if other people have the same feeling of dread that I have about my job. So many questions and so many doubts, I get so tired of it all.

But what with the impending nuptials, the nest, and the credit crunch all together, I can't very much up and leave. Well, at least not in the short term. At least this time I have found a place I actually like, aside from the crazies which are abundant everywhere I go. heh.

Anyways looking forward to the near future, with lots of excitement and anticipation.

There are too many places I really want to visit. Truth be told, travelling is one of my passions, there is nothing I love more than a good holiday to escape the madness of the day. Whether it is a quick jaunt to a neighbouring country or sitting more than 10 hrs to somewhere further. It is always a pleasure to touch down somewhere different, with fresh sights and sounds to explore.
Of the many places I want to go, these are a few of the more interesting ones that I am looking forward to;

1) The blue lagoon

Imagine taking a dip in the hot spring in the dead of winter. The place looks gorgeous too. Havn't had a winter holiday in a long time, so this would be nice.

2) Machu Pichu

Machu Picchu (Quechua: Machu Pikchu, "Old Peak", pronounced [ˈmɑtʃu ˈpiktʃu]) is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,430 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level[1]. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba River flows. Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu is one of the most familiar symbols of the Inca Empire. (source wikipedia)

Abit worried about the altitude sickness tho' but I think it will be so awesome.

3) The Pyramids of Giza

Who would not want to visit the pyramids, I cannot imagine. It is just such an amazing and beautiful sight so I really want to see it in person. Also am interested to take the tour inside to see what it's like. Pretty morbid I suppose considering these are meant to be tombs but oh so fascinating.
The list is expansive but these are just to name a few. Not sure when we will have the time or the budget to go, so I will just have to satisfy myself with short jaunts for now and our minimoon in Sept. Looking forward to lounging by the pool and hearing the waves rolling against the beach.

The weekend went by in a whirl again. This weekend we bought a garment steamer and I am pleased as punch. We had been thinking about it for some time but I wasn't sure I would actually end up using it, but I am soo loving it now. :) It's really a breeze to use and oh so fast! Managed to whizz through more buckets of unironed clothes, yes I have buckets of unironed clothes, due the the renovations, in just under three hours, it was wonderful! Never have I enjoyed doing the ironing so much, altho I guess now it should be called the steaming! heh.

In other news, the Dar changed his HP, again. Yups, traded in the N86 in just under a month for the W995, so we'll see how that pans out. The N86 was annoying him no end, as it was constantly hanging and so to put an end to his whinging we trooped down to town early to get his new phone. It's really quite a beauty with a 8.1MP camera to boot. Which no doubt I will be happily benefitting from.

It has been a crazy few weeks to say the least and finally the dust is beginning to settle somewhat. I am very drained and am not too sure how to feel. Alot of things are still in limbo and altho I am somewhat apprehensive, I believe that when God closes the door, he will at least still open a window for me. For right now, I have my Faith to keep me going along with my Dar and the support of my loved ones. It is at these times that I know I must not let life get me down, there are a million other greater problems than what I have to face and in more ways than one I am truly blessed.

Guess what arrived for tea today ?! The lovely G brought cupcakes to my office in celebration of Matty's one month. Pleased as punch. It was such a welcome sight to see her swing round the corner in her mother's red 'bus', and an even greater joy to realise said cupcakes were from ccup! Ever since Wen's wedding, I have been plotting and scheming to find a reason to order the cupcakes. So, I was thrilled to see this pink box. The Dar was nice enough to offer the choc one to me, and I did not hesitate to accept. Ha. So he has brought home the other one. There was also a lovely card that accompanied the cupcakes which announced Matty's arrival and stats, with a ickle pic of him to boot. Thumbs up G! I love it, although Ccup should think of getting other colour boxes.

Anyways, Happy 1 month Matty boo, we love you!

XOXO

A New Addition

We have a new little one in the family, a brand new little fella, still fresh from the oven. At the moment he just sleeps alot, drinks alot and wants to be picked up alot. Today he turns 1 month, what a milestone and yet it seems he has been here since forever.

Welcome Matty, I love you already!

The bro and G decided to do a small dinner just with the immediate family and it was great to see everyone again, esp the little tykes. They were hilarious. They are all growing up so fast, it's amazing, everytime I see the boo, I am amazed at how much of a little boy he has become and that he is no longer the baby sausage of yesterday.

tired

I am so drained, there are so many thoughts swimming in my head.
I am so tired, so sick of all the things that have been happening, so tired of all the fighting and pretence, so fed up with listening to the nonsense that is being said. I am so tired.

I have a wedding to plan. I have a job to keep. I have a life to lead.
I dun need this right now, or ever for that matter.
I dun need you and your negativity raining down on my life.
I dun need you and your so called, good intentions, telling me that everyone in this world aside from urself is out to get me.
I dun need u telling me how u want everything this way and that when it isn't even ur day.
I dun need u and ur emotional blackmails and pity parade when u know I'm not budging from what I say.
I dun need u waving money in my face using it as another bargaining chip.
I dun need your skewed life philosophies and selfish life lessons that seek to self glorify.
I dun need to u tell me how to lead my life.

I have choices to make, risks to take, mistakes to uncover and adventures to experience. Just like everyone else.

One can dream

Yesterday I dreamt it was already Thursday. Alas it was not.

How surprised was I when the office mailroom calld my line to say that there were flowers for me and for me to go collect them. We have a centralized mail room so whatever packages are sent there for collection. My reply to the voice on the other end of the line when he informed me of this was one of utter disbelief, to are u sure? Anyho, I was sure that there had been some mistake but ventured over nonetheless as I was also curious who the flowers were for.

Lo and behold, the Dar decided to send me a flower in a basket with lollies to boot! Woot! Being the sweet and wonderful ahem colleague I am, I gladly shared them with my colleagues. They were rather sweet, swooning over my basket, altho I was kinda embarrassed, but in a good way. heh.

The one with the Bling

Ps. Will post details later. For now I am just reveling in bliss. XOXO

The voice within

I often read other people's blogs, I'll admit it. Whether it be randomn people I knew a million years ago or be it total strangers I only know through cyber postings. I am an avid blog reader. Half in part because the institutions I work for dun ban the sites, but also because I secretly really enjoy it. It amazes me how much people enjoy writing in a cryptic fashion, quoting music lyrics or famous quotes to express their inner feelings. To me, I always feel that a blog is where you express yourself, speaking forth your inner most thoughts, it strikes me as odd that the voice within your head might be speaking someone elses thoughts.

I don't claim to be a great writer and I do appreciate how a serious thinker of yester years might be able to bring forth an idea or situation with greater poetic prose but honestly, I'd rather read something that is heartful and honest than some poetic prose that I might not understand. If you wanted to be so cryptic and secretive, why have a blog in the first place?! I suppose in alot of ways that is the debate going around in the blogsphere as to how original should one's postings be and whether plagerism is something that should have more seriousi implications on a blog than in printed article. These are all very big questions of which I am not going to expound on for I do not want to get embroiled in such a debate. In any case, I suppose the audience will take their stance and decide if said postings are worth the read ultimately.

Project top secret

In what was known as project top secret, we welcomed to our MJ clan a new member yesterday. No doubt it will take a good number of years before she will be ponging her way at the MJ table, we are thrilled nonetheless. Little tiny Evie, welcome to the world! It's so surreal to see the friends that you have known since primary school go off and get married, and now with an ickle one of their own. Oh but I am so delighted, we have waited so long to meet you little miss evie!

breakfast and because you complained

The morning did not start out well, I was annoyed even before I managed to muster taking a shower. Mornings are not my thing, to put it lightly. I just think people should be reasonable and considerate. Dun think that is too much to ask.

Anyhos, met the frenchies for dinner and drinks. Had Imperiel Treasure for dinner with Nat and moved on to barstop for drinks after with VO and his frens. Dar joined us later but we didnt stay out too late. It was nice to catch up with Nat and as usual loved IT's food. Nat never ceases to make me laff and regale me with her stories. It's amazing how much longer some boys take to mature. But it was a nice time although I must say that I dun enjoy seeing VO as much as I used to. There really isnt much to talk about and his constant need to be one up just annoys me and brings out my caustic side. Also I'm getting tired of belittleling him in front of other people. It is sad when a person just cannot be a fren and constantly needs the attention and adoration of everyone around. Barstop serves good strawberry margarithas tho. It was delish. The mojitos on the other hand, well were not good. VO also introed his new squeeze to us, she's pretty but oh so wrong for him in my opinion. Ah well, such is love I suppose.

It's days like these that I count my blessings and am extremely thankful for dar. Much as I emphasize that we do not have a perfect relationship, ( I dun believe perfection exists in this regard) I do think that I am blissfully happy and that what we have works for us, and that is all that matters really. Happiness is something that really needs to be pursued and when you find it, I believe it is something you have to work at to keep. It evolves just as well as we evolve and I reckon that we also need to have a sense of satisfaction and knowing when it is enough. Simplicity is often a blessing in disguise so I must not complain too much about the incidentals.

It's in the little things

We went for a walk and talked and talked, and even though it was just something as simple as a short stroll together, I felt so blissful. We walked past the plot and talked of castles and dreams and the sky was a glorious pink. We spoke of car rims and and pet peeves.

And I'm reminded that it is the simple things in life that are most important.
