I often read other people's blogs, I'll admit it. Whether it be randomn people I knew a million years ago or be it total strangers I only know through cyber postings. I am an avid blog reader. Half in part because the institutions I work for dun ban the sites, but also because I secretly really enjoy it. It amazes me how much people enjoy writing in a cryptic fashion, quoting music lyrics or famous quotes to express their inner feelings. To me, I always feel that a blog is where you express yourself, speaking forth your inner most thoughts, it strikes me as odd that the voice within your head might be speaking someone elses thoughts.
I don't claim to be a great writer and I do appreciate how a serious thinker of yester years might be able to bring forth an idea or situation with greater poetic prose but honestly, I'd rather read something that is heartful and honest than some poetic prose that I might not understand. If you wanted to be so cryptic and secretive, why have a blog in the first place?! I suppose in alot of ways that is the debate going around in the blogsphere as to how original should one's postings be and whether plagerism is something that should have more seriousi implications on a blog than in printed article. These are all very big questions of which I am not going to expound on for I do not want to get embroiled in such a debate. In any case, I suppose the audience will take their stance and decide if said postings are worth the read ultimately.
