ahaha...am so pleased.
Just got my first birthday pressie and it is the best! My sis in law, bro and 'jie' got together to surprise me and they are taking me to KL!@! OMG!
They are the bestest! They were really funny about the whole thing as well, cos it was supposed to be a surprise so G was like, oh, do u want to go cycling on sunday? Like it is a whole day event with a bbq after and everything. And of course I was like sure, that would be great! It was all a sham! haha. J was like oh you want to go for a spa day on sat? So funny!!! They are the sweetest.
Unfortunately K is now on a biz trip so he can't make it anymore! Nevertheless, it is gonna be such a blast!!! Can't wait!! I'm so excited, I'm blogging this in office. hahaha.
I'm ashamed to admit that this is like my first time to KL as an adult!! The last time I went I was like 7 so it is gonna be like the FIRST time! Looking forward to Dunkin Donuts! Yummy...
Although it will be rather short, leaving sat morning and coming back sun nite, but i think it will be a fun break away from the hum drum of work and what not. We are all super sick of our jobs and the crazies that seem to plague us at work. G swears that it is bad karma, so maybe I should do more charitable goods, ok, I promise to see D more often...ha, i m so bad.
Already googling all the sites on what to do and where to go in the short time we are there, but I need not worry cos I m going with the KL expert! hehe.

New trails to blaze..

Ang-Pao box
This is the money box that I did for S's wedding.
It was pretty easy and fun to make and I m seriously thinking of doing this full time.
Recently started a course in Bridal Bouquet arrangment. First lesson has been fun so far, but I was really unprepared and felt like such a ditz, also cause I was really tired from the night before and felt kinda unwell. Will post up pics of the stuff I'll be making when I get the chance to upload them.
So far have made three different types if corsages and it has been rather fun. Made a carnation, orchid and rose corsage with different fastenings, not too bad, although I kinda pierced my thumb with the wire which was not so fun.
I feel that this year I want to do so many different things, really excited at the prospect of the courses as well as the new roads I want to be embarking on. Really think I should start back on French, seems all of it has gone to the dogs and I think that isnt too good. Like I can understand fine, but I can't write or speak it to save my life, not good. Sigh....
It's less than a month to CNY....can't wait!

wow...time flies
gosh it has been ages since my last post, and wouldn't u know it, a year has ended and another one has begun.
dunno if it is a little late to be recounting the days of 2006 but well, as they say better late than never.
I guess, for me 2006 went by in a flash, I really feel like I don't really know where that whole year went to, so much has happened and so many things have changed. Some for the better, others not so much. Can't realli say that alot has been accomplished in the year, but at least i have found a new passion despite losing one as well. I guess change is always a bitch but it is the only thing constant, and well, just got to deal.
This year has thought me alot though, in terms of self realizations as well as in life lessons. It has made me realise the important pple in my life and that sometimes despite great distances, the ties that bind us are still indeed strong. It has also made me see more clearer what my priorities in life are and how it doesnt matter what other people think of those priorities, so long as I feel that they are important to me. This year has also had it''s downs and perhaps I need to learn to be more selective in who I put my faith in, in the future. Yet somehow, I dun think that is one of the lessons that is gonna stick well with me from this year though. Although having said that, I have finished reading " He's just not that into you" so I might be a little wiser, just a little. heh.
Hoping that 2007 will be a great year for me and everyone as well.

pissed
i wonder wat u say to someone, when they dissappoint u. i want to shout at u, but i cant. u never made any promises, at least not any i could hold u to. but i cant help it, i'm boiling. upset and sad, yet boiling. i know i onli have myself to blame, that is the onli thing holding me back from shouting at u, but more so i just want u to hold me while i cry. n for u to tell me that it's goin to be ok, n that i m just being silly. but no, u are in ur oblivious world n i just think u are a fuckwit. why the hell do i fall for fuckwits.
is it so hard to be there for someone when they need you, how much more explicit do u have to be, does i need u to talk to me now, not seem explicit enough. does i need to tok to someone not make things loud n clear? wat else do u have to say?
ah, fuck it. just fuck off.

feelin sobby
I dun know what's wrong. Seriously, I'm not being difficult, I really dun. Just had a good cry, what about I have no idea. IS that normal? I suppose not entirely. NB is at fam dinner, I dun wanna disturb her. N I dunno. I want to call someone but really wat would i say, i'm crying, pls help me stop? Wat abt? I dun really know. I want to say it is just PMS but that seems like such a cop out.
Am i unhappy? I can't realli say yes to that. I thought I was ok, but maybe not. Maybe everyone goes through the feeling of being down in the dumps, maybe we all have a gapping whole somewhere that needs to be filled and mine hasnt been filled yet.
Maybe I need a level of human interaction that has not been fed, somehow I feel my soul aching, dying. Maybe I am havin an allergy attack that is feeding on parts of my brain. Maybe I'm losing my mind. Watever the case maybe, I just hope this ends soon, I 'm starting to scare myself. I m NOT a basketcase. Or maybe it's just cos I missed tennis today?

Of Love and Life
And why does it have to be so difficult? This whole dating and courting thing.
Why is it that people cannot just be honest and upfront? I know everyone is
afraid to be hurt, of course I know, I feel the same way too.
But shouldn't the desire for happiness be greater than the fear of rejection, shouldn't the
sense of self preservation that comes like a double-edged sword be kept aside for that brief moment? If not just to find happiness?
I'm tired of boys testing limits and waters, tired of people who just want to try it out for the sake of not being alone. I want passion, an intensity that burns, that reminds me why I am alive. How can one like someone they've only met once? How can you ask someone to be with you when you've only spoken to them a couple of times? Wat's wrong with these pple? How can you like my fren and then tell me u like me? Are u nuts?
I know I'm a walking contradiction, I want happiness but I want him to come get me. I want passionate intensity but yet I don't like to rush things. I want to be swept off my feet, but I 'm terrified of falling head over heels. I want a love like the song Head over Feet.
I just want someone perfect for me, dun think I'm asking for too much now.

Hazy Days and Mondays always get me down

The Cupcakes!!
Another hazy day and the NB has flown out of singapore on business, leaving me here to suffer the haze alone. Ok, maybe not realli alone cos I think the WHOLE of singapore is suffering together.
But yes, the haze is getting out of hand. As of now, the PSI has hit like more than 100! I can't see the sea from my office window!!!! OMG.
What I would not give to be where she is now. Although having said that I am a little concerned that she has taken off in this weather.
The weekend went by in a flash, as it always does. It's back to being Monday and the start to a new week. Weekend was good, went for drinks with the usual suspects on Fri night. I hate Truth or Dare, remind me not to ever play it again. Let's just say it's dumb lah. Funny thing was bumping into Chaney there tho. Bein the sweetie he is, he came over to say hello , right in the midst of a round of five ten. haha. But it was nice to see him. Miss your funny face chaney, we seem to see less n less of each other nowadays.
Drank too much, got to bed too late. But nevertheless was a good nite out.
Saturday was spent in class and running off midway for Wen's wedding. Oh it was lovely, been a long time since I've been for a church wedding and it was nice to be back in church for oneand to be part of the whole exchange of vows, i-give-my-life-to-u ceremony. Wedding was lovely, short and sweet, witha nice rendition of Steven Curtis Chapman's I will be Here. Nice. The cathering was great as well, lots of variety of food and the wedding favours were lovely! Two cupcakes decorated to the colour theme of the wedding. Will post pics once I upload them.Later in the night went for Karaoke! My fav! haha. Was one of the boys' birthday so we had a nice time getting him drunk. Maybe boys aren't all that stinky after all, this bunch seem like rite sweeties.
Sunday was great, lazy morning followed by a great round of tennis with the usual foursome.
Scarily, as we were playing, the PSI had crept to unhealthy levels! So it was good that we were back indoors just after two hours of play. Was a nice session, lots of fun and jokes, really appreciate my 'charity' tennis people, they make me lurve the game more and more! Really, there is little I won't forsake for a round of tennis or a session of karaoke at the min.

And It's all over!
Hurray, the wedding went off without a hitch! Well, almost without a hitch.
As I had my saturday class on, I had to miss most of the tea ceremony but went for the all important haggling at the bride's front door. It was rather uneventful tho, cos the groom ended up hurting his arm and the fun came to a premature end when the parents intervened with the house key. sigh.
Nevertheless it was all good fun. The guys were really sporting and it was a relief that at least all the brothers helped to create a good atmosphere and we had alot of laffs.
Dinner went well too. I MCed with one of the "brothers", me doing the english portion and him the chinese. Went alrite, had a couple of funny blunders but most of it went ok.The guests were all pretty punctual and the night ended around 11, which was just nice. The Bride looked lovely and the pics turned out great as well. Everyone had a great time and I think we have forged some new frenships. It's so cliche, makes me think of the SDU adverts of old what with couples hooking up at some fren's wedding. Well, fingers crossed, we'll see what happens.
Oh well, here are some of the pics so far;

2 days to go....
This is what happens when you are a wedding coordinator to your friend.
It's like 1.37 am and I just got back from her house finishing up the signature board and decorating the money box. Thankfully it's all done and sorted. Well pleased.
So here I am having to leave my house in the dead of the night to go settle these things, having to walk through crazy (read creepy) corridors and lift landings and not to mention a rather large field. Thankfully the field was well lit, which took me by surprise, I was bracing myself for the trek in darkness and being startled by so much as the wind, but nicely there was a HUGE spotlight that made the 'adventure' more than bearable. The bottom of the blocks are a totally different story though. But well, back in one piece safe and sound, save for the fact that I had to walk back cos none of the buses stopped for me. That really pissed me off. The buses just ploughed past my stop which was like 3 stops from my place so I decided to leg it, which is not nice at 1ish in the morning.
Much of the list has been ticked off thankfully. *sigh of relief*
Our Outstanding List
_______________
1) Corsages-sorted to be collected tom
2) Money Box-sorted and nicely done ( will post pics later)
3) Signature Board-done
4) Bridal car -settled
5) Video Montage-still a mystery
6) Table seating-oh well, as usual that is gonna be a big surprise. sigh.
7) Emcee-to be confirmed
At least it is a good thing that the bride has pretty much got her act together as well. There was a slight panic attack with the signature board but although it kinda doesnt really match, it's really quite nice, I reckon.
Oh well, am pleased that things are falling into place, but I suppose given the short notice of about a month or so, this is remarkable. Not withstanding the difficulty in getting the bridal couple to focus. So just keeping my fingers crossed for the BIG day!
Now, all I need to is find a beachy dress for the day ceremony! Oh me and my bright ideas of getting the bride to pick a theme, I'm left with nothing to wear! But am really looking forward to it! It's gonna be such fun!

Things that go bump...
I bumped into an old classmate today. It's not the first time that I have run into her. It's kinda funny too, cos she is now dating an ex colleague of mine.
I hate it when I bump into pple that I used to know yet have not spoken to in a long time. I dun really know what to do, I mean after all the hellos and pleasantries, (did u think i was raised by wolves?!) what do u do? Are u obliged to exchange numbers? Start keeping in touch? Just realli weird, yknow? So sometimes, I'd just rather not? I dunno wat to say or how to end it, like is it just oh that's nice, see ya ard?! or wat?!
Oh well, maybe it's just tt particular person, cos I was reminded by NB that I didnt always feel this way n that i was a pro at meeting all these acquaintances and stuff. Oh well.
I'm growing fatter. help. Dunno y as well, cos I think I have been pretty healthy. Ok maybe not so in the choc department but still, at least i AM exercising on a rather regualr basis. I'm starting to look like I am well into my second trimester, it is not funny.
Everyone ballooned when they went overseas, I on the other hand was my svelte self (after the inital scary 3kg in 3 mths ordeal which thankfully ended) all the way till final year where I ballooned and there was no turning back! God has a sense of humourafter all. I am pretty sure, not just cos of the platypus.
So I m gonna try my best to get some proper exercise in place and set some health goals, at least to tone up and not scare people when I pare down to bikini bottoms for my dive trips! No more beached whale!!! Was thinking of joining the Stanchart marathon, but as I was dragging my arse about it, the application deadline has closed, thanks alot. So now, I have not that much motivation to get into shape, but nevertheless I console myself that there will always be next year and that this means I have a longer period to train for. ( and when i mean train, it's just so that i dun collapse and die)
Wish me luck, I will need it.

Been ages since my last dive but I think it will be a good break away plus will be going with my nonsense buddy! Think it will be good cos we havn't had much time to spend together what with both of us being so busy and her having a new mr someone in her life...hahaha (she's just gonna kill me for typing this) but well, at least we are making time for each other. .......ok, my rubber duckie pic from my last dive....

The importance of being sun-blocked...
Fuck...I didn't put sunblock and now I am peeling like nobody's business. Fuck.
Oh well...apart from looking ultra burnt, I have the pleasure of flaking all over my predominately black office garb, as well as all over my desk and all other surfaces I encounter. Oh joy.
Glad to announce that the wedding preps are well on their way and the corsages have been picked.
Would post a photo but i can't seem to upload it at the min.
ok it works now...

Oh well, looks pretty sweet and I think it is quite a steal. The other place in my previous post was lovely and great, but unfortunately did not suit our budget. They are great tho' and I'd recommend them for any future weddings and if I ever take the leap, I'd definitely use them.
More or less things are falling into place and we are on to thinking how to 'zheng' the groom and his groomsmen! Lots of gross things for them to do and lots unpleasant things to eat! ha. I'm so glad I'm not a guy! Today had a taste of what it would be like if I did this full time. Am ill but still needed to go view the corsages and place the order and meet the wedding party to plan and make sure everyone is aware of what needs to be done and view the ballroom plans etc. sigh. I dunno, could I get used to this?
It's funny tho, cos I am really excited for her! I mean this isn't the first wedding I am doing and yet I still feel so excited, I think I'm more excited than the bride! haha. Just something about weddings that I think are great, just feel that it is a special time for a couple and that perhaps maybe it will be the last time they will put in so much effort into planning something for themselves, I mean call me old fashion but I reckon it's a once in a lifetime thing, should really make it a memorable thing.
So yes, on track. Phew.

Can you go the distance...
This month seems to be the month of departures.
First it was berty, then VO, and soon it will be Paupau.
It is a strange feeling to ask someone when they are coming home again, only to hear them answer in all seriousness, "I don't know".
Makes you think about all LDRs, not just romantic ones, but relationships in general, no? That just being apart from someone you care about, can never be easy.
So what makes some people go through with them and not others. Does it make one a bad person if they can't have one, or a better person if they have survived one? I mean, on the one hand, it can be argued that being able to sustain a LDR shows that you love with an intensity and purity that can withstand the hardships of different time zones and lonely days. Of not having the dearest person to you at those crucial moments, be it to kill a lizard above you on the ceiling keepin u awake, or to celebrate the closing of your first deal for that new job. So many moments, so many misses. But how about the flip side of it, maybe there is no intensity, maybe it just takes a certain type of person, someone independent perhaps? Someone who doesn't need that type of intensity of seeing their better halves everyday or so. Perhaps even, it may indicate that they dun really love with an intensity, they just want to know that there is someone there for them, even if they dun realli need to reach out to them.
Some of my frens have even said that it takes getting used to when they are finally in the same airspace, how odd, that this is someone they are in a relationship with, yet they need to get readjusted to them. Like jet lag.
I dun realli know if I can do it realli or which category I fall under. Have never personally had an LDR, I guess it's one of those situations where you can't really give an honest opinion till it's staring you in the face. But I'm sure it takes alot of effort, patience, understanding and strength. So if I dun miss the presence of the person, does it mean I can live without him, or does it just mean I can handle it? Or if I can't deal with him not being around, does it mean I love him madly and deeply? I don't know, but I know that I dun miss him, not realli at least, not with an intensity that upsets me. Kinda like an afterthought rather. So all we need to forget realli, is time , alot of distance, restricted airspace and ah, yes radio silence. Yes I thinkI like that.
I am however, missing a 3am chat buddy and a last min dinner n lunch kaki and of course my fellow kao bei kia. haha. Oh well, but who am I to stand in the way of true love, so here I am wishing you and Tamster all the best! And you better have an extra room for me to crash when I go round to visit!

Day 2 and so it continues.....
I have come to realise that co-ordinating a wedding via email n the telephone
can be a frustrating n annoying exeperience. Esp, when the parties involved
have no clue what they want or what is goin on for that matter.
Well, after 3 over hours, not much has realli changed, the bride has FINALLY
realised/accepted that there needs to be a theme n that we need to STICK to the theme for anything to be settled.
oh god, kill me now.
we still have like 10 things on my to-do list n time is ticking away.
It doesnt help that the mother of the groom refuses to cooperate about the colour scheme or the
type of corsage that she wants, or the number of tables for that matter.
arghhhhhhh
wassup with these pple!? so here we are 3 weeks to the wedding without a
clue about RSVPs, seating arrangements, corsages, MCs!, bridal car, dinner
programme, n get this, have just been told that she hasnt even chosen her gowns either!
if we pull this off without a hitch, please someone give me a medal!

Day 1 of being a WC...
that's wedding co-ordinator not water closet....
Had the first proper meeting for B & S's wedding, finally, with one of the bridesmaids. sigh....never a good sign when the bride herself doesn't know what the hell she wants. oh well, i have undertaken this task, will just have to ride it out.
At least we have settled the outline of what needs to be done. I was blown away today by the panic in the bride's voice when she rang me to tell me that she suddenly had been overcome by indecision about the colours of the flowers! hello!? it's like less than a month to the wedding, are u kiddin me? help, i need a neurofem.
oh well, so i spent a good hour on the phone explaining to her the importance of havin a colour scheme or a theme of some sort for the big day. As well as how having a different colour for the ballroom, car decoration, bridal bouquet AND corsages would have just been so wrong. At least I was referred a nice florist, so that is great. Spoke to the wedding consultant and she was so frenly n warm, so have great impression of the company thus far. It wouldnt hurt if they give me a good quote as well, but well, will keep you posted.
So, thankfully, after my hour long persuasion (read hypnosis), we have finally decided to co-ordinate the colour of the flowers! thank God. So, Champagne it is!
3 weeks to go to the BIG day...wish me luck, i'll need it....

crikey
steve irwin passed away today. apparantly from a sting by a sting ray. i guess befittingly so, that he went, doing something he dedicated his life to. to be honest, i dun realli watch his programme on discovery.but somehow watching the trailers n hearing his famous "crikey" always makes me laff. just always felt that this guy had alot of enthusiasm n passion for wat he did, even if it did borderline on annoying.
first thing i did when i heard the news was to sms Chaney, he is like the one person i know that realli likes the programme n the guy. sent him a text to make sure he wasn't thoroughly gutted by the news, we shared a joke abt makin a toast to the guy n tat was that. the news also made me want to learn more about this guy, i know it's morbid n dumb at the same time, but well, i wikipediaed (yes, i heart wikipedia!!) steve irwin n found out all this amazing stuff ! so it is a real shame n my heart goes out to his family he has left behind n all his fans.
